Babb Wins In a Thriller at FALS

Shannon Babb patiently waited for his opportunity then took it along with the win with just 3 laps to go at FALS to take the MARS win. Blaze Burwell took the runner up honors with as McKay Wenger rounded out the podium.

29 MARS Late Models were on hand at Fairbury with top time honors going to Wenger. Heat race winners were Wenger,Feger,and Burwell. Daniel Adam took the B Main win.

It became a 3 car battle for the majority of the race between Burwell,Feger,and Babb. Burwell was committed to the bottom as Feger was banging the cushion as Babb ran the middle to the top side looking for an opening.

Feger, current MARS point leader and reigning champion, appeared to be on his way to victory before he developed a push then losing a RF tire with just a few laps to go from victory lane.

That gave the lead to Burwell with just a few laps to go as Feger changed his flat tire and tagged the tail. Burwell took the white flag but that was the last time he led as Babb took the lead and the win on the top side.

The series will conclude their Labor Day weekend at Spoon River with another $5,000 to win Feature. Catch all the action live on FloRacing if you can't make it there in person.
