Jonathan Davenport hasn't had a Dream season but when it comes to Crown Jewel events at Eldora the team comes together to be on the stage when the big money is on the line. Chris Madden once again just missed winning at Eldora as he had to follow Davenport across the line with Bobby Pierce rounding out the podium.
Davenport started 6th on the grid and later said that he knew the track would take rubber so he needed to get out front before it did.
He passed Bobby Pierce for the lead in turn 4 on lap 29 and then made sure to not get out of line the final 71 laps to secure the $129,000 payday in the Lance Landers Motorsports Longhorn Chassis.

Mason Zeigler fired off from his pole position starting spot and set the early pace out in front. Zeigler and his crew had to rebuild his XR1 Rocket Chassis after ending his Friday night Preliminary Feature in the turn 2 wall after hard racing with Josh Rice.
As he got into lapped traffic Pierce, Davenport, and Hudson O’Neal were battling for the lead before Pierce made the pass for the lead.

Pierce's lead would be short lived as Davenport would make the winning pass. Chris Madden would close in on Davenport but never could find an opening to get his nose under Davenport.
Davenport would later say it felt like racing at Cherokee Speedway racing in the rubber with Chris Madden for a win.
Bobby Pierce with his third place finish is his best finish in the June event.

Will this win carry on for rest of the season for Jonathan Davenport? Time will tell but when we come back to Eldora in September never count The Fast 49 out for the win.
