Ryan Gustin continues to have a great season as he picked up the win at Boothill Speedway last night over Bobby Pierce and Dustin Sorensen. Pole sitter and WoO point leader Brandon Sheppard finished fourth with Cade Dillard rounding out the top 5.
42 cars took time with Bobby Pierce claiming top qualifier honors. Nick Hoffman, Gustin,Sheppard, and Brian Shirley taking heat race wins as Brian Rickman and Timothy Culp taking B Main wins. Brandon Sheppard drew the pole position for the 50 lap main event.
At the drop of the green it was Brian Shirley blasting out the lead from his outside front row starting spot. "Squirrel" has been on a roll the last couple of months but on lap 12 Gustin took control of the race.
"The Reaper" would lose the lead for a couple of laps to rookie Dustin Sorensen but went back around to lead the rest of the way.
Gustin would say in victory lane he knew he couldn't keep a fast pace ripping the lip for the whole race in fear of tearing out the deck. He would credit Sorensen being a really good driver on the bottom and when Gustin went down low to block he hit the slime and washed up the track allowing Sorensen to lead a couple of laps before reclaiming the lead.
Pierce would slip by Sorensen just a few laps from the finish as he continues to try to cut into Sheppard's point lead. While BShepp isn't winning but his consistent top 5 runs is making it difficult for Pierce to make big gains in the standings with four races left.
Tonight the series will travel to Petty,TX home of Rocket Raceway Park to battle for $15,000
