A Tennessean defends his home turf as Cory Hedgecock passed leader Dale McDowell on lap 39 to take the Schaeffer's Spring Nationals Tennessean at 411 Motor Speedway. The win was Hedgecock's first career Series win on his home track in front of a packed grandstand in Seymour, Tennessee.

45 Late Models would fill the pits at the 3/8th mile track located in Seymour , Tennessee with Dale McDowell topping the field in qualifying. McDowell would go on to take his heat race win along with Carson Ferguson , Mike Marlar and Ross Bailes.
The B Main wins would go to Michael Chilton and Booger Brooks to set the field for the 71 lap $15,000 Main Event.
The Chickamauga Georgia resident would lead the field to green and lead the first 39 laps and through 4 yellow flags.
On lap 23 the caution that has drawn social media attention occurred involving Marlar , Overton , and Weiss. They were running three wide with Overton in the middle with Weiss on the outside and Marlar underneath "Big Sexy" when Weiss came down causing Overton down on "The Winfield Warrior" ending Marlar's day with suspension damage. That video is all over the internet thanks to great camera work by FloRacing.
With McDowell still out front lap 39 is when the self built BMF Race Car of Hedgecock used the extreme low line to cruise on into victory lane with Weiss in second and "The Fastest Mullett in Dirt Racing" Jensen Ford rounding out the podium. Hedgecock won by a comfortable 1.375 second advantage.
The Series resumes on March 31 at Buckshot Speedway (Clanton,Al) with a $7,553 payday on the line. Make sure to visit www.southernnationalseries.com to keep up with the series and www.411motorspeedway.net for the track's schedule and results
