Hedgecock Protects Home Turf Wins HTF Night 1 at I-75

Cory Hedgecock lives just a short drive to I-75 Raceway and he defended his home turf to win night 1 of Hunt the Front Championship weekend. Hedgecock retook the lead after point leader , Brandon Overton , had a flat tire. Hedgecock cruised to the checkers from there ahead of Stormy Scott and Dale McDowell.

29 Late Models took time with Hedgecock setting the overall fast time. Heat race winners were Hedgecock,McDowell, Winger, and Overton. B Mains went to David Crabtree and Josh Henry.

Hedgecock charged to the lead at the drop of the green from his outside front row starting spot. The BMF Chassis led until Overton , who won a Southern Nationals Series race in the spring , took the lead on lap 30 as Hedgecock had issues with slower traffic.

Once they cleared traffic the lead duo were equal setting up a good finish but a flat tire robbed that opportunity for the series point leader. Overton would change the tire and settled for a 8th place finish with one race left for the series title. Overton holds a 78 point lead over Winger who leads 3rd place Sam Seawright by 28 points. Seawright sits just 8 markers ahead of Zack Mitchell who sits in 4th.

The 2024 Hunt the Front Series ends tonight at I-75 with some good series money up for grabs. Catch all the action live on huntthefront.tv
