Cameron Marlar collected his biggest payday to date as he took the Johnny Wheeler Memorial last night at Lake Cumberland Speedway. Marlar made it a clean sweep by timing the fastest during qualifying , winning his heat , then led every lap last night for the $10,053 payday. The win is also the first of his career on the Southern Nationals Series. Josh Rice and Pearson Lee Williams rounded out the podium.

27 Late Models were on hand with the three heat races going to Marlar , Carson Ferguson , and Jason Jameson. The B Main went to Forrest Trent. Point leader Donald McIntosh and Christian Hanger took series provisionals to fill out the 22 car field.

Marlar jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green as the field would see his rear spoiler for the entire race but plenty of action was behind the winner. Tyler Erb , Josh Rice, and Devin Gilpin all were having a good battle trying to run down the blue and white 57M. Rice dominated the big races last year at Lake Cumberland would close up on the leader but couldn't get close enough to overtake Marlar.

Devin Gilpin's strong run unfortunately came to a premature end as he would suffer a flat RR 7 laps from the end. He ran as high as second and was third when his tire would give out under caution for Carson Ferguson's flat tire. Gilpin called it a night as Ferguson would rejoin the field to finish 8th.

The race seen a red flag after a lap 28 restart as Dustin Linville spun collecting point leader McIntosh as well as Adam Stricker. Cody Mahoney also got a piece of it and drove off to call it a night. McIntosh would be the only one to continue to chase the points to finish seventh. He now trails in the standings by 2 points to Williams.

Pearson Lee Williams would charge from his 14th starting spot to third to overtake the point lead as the series will travel to Sugar Creek Raceway (GA) on May 3.
