The reigning Lucas Oil Champion set fast time , won his heat , then retook the lead from Tyler Erb to lead the final 20 laps for his third straight win at East Bay. Daulton Wilson and Jonathan Davenport round out the podium.
A whopping 75 cars signed in on Tuesday night for the $5,000 to win race. Tyler Erb topped Group B qualifying and won his heat race. Other heat race winners were Winger , Garrett Smith , Davenport , and Wilson. Three B Mains went to Max Blair , Wil Herrington , and Saturday nights winner Tim McCreadie.
Hudson O'Neal blasted out to the early race lead on the bottom as Tyler Erb was blasting the top in the Best Performance Motorsports XR1 Rocket Chassis.
Erb finally edged in front of the Rocket House Car on lap 4 but O'Neal would get under Terbo on the backstretch on lap 10.
At the halfway mark O'Neal led Erb , Davenport, Wilson , and Winger
The track became bottom dominant as Daulton Wilson would take over third from Davenport on lap 16 then would pass Erb for second on lap 19.
Davenport would pass Erb on lap 20 as Tyler was losing ground being committed to the top side.
Wilson reeled in the leader O'Neal with a handful laps to go as he was negotiating slower traffic but never was challenged by Wilson. Hudson would pull away the last couple of laps in the caution free event to secure the win.
Tonight was a non points night for the Lucas Oil Series and tomorrow night as well. They will race for $7,000 tomorrow night.
