Bobby Pierce picked up his second Illini 100 last night in dominating fashion as he took the checkers over Nick Hoffman by nearly 9 seconds. Tyler Erb would fill out the World of Outlaws podium. Kyle Bronson and hard charging Brandon Sheppard rounded out the top 5.
44 World of Outlaws took time with top time honors going to Tim McCreadie. Heat race winners were Madden , Hoffman , Babb , and Pierce. B Main winners were Max Blair and Tripp Gerald.
At the drop of the green Chris Madden took the early lead as he would lead the first 13 laps before Pierce took it over and would not look back. Pierce sliced and diced his way through slower traffic to put a big gap over the front runners. It wasn't easy navigating the lapped cars as Pierce had a few close calls as he put cars a lap down.
Madden would lose the runner up spot just before half way as Friday's winner , Nick Hoffman , would pass Madden. Madden would fade to a 6th place finish as he struggled to find grip.
Tyler Erb would close in on the the runner up Hoffman but couldn't get close enough to pass him. Brandon Sheppard charged to a 5th place finish after having to take a provisional. What started off as a frustrating night for BShepp ended with a hard charger award and leaves the weekend as the WoO point leader.
Pierce would say in victory lane his key to victory was a last minute call on tires after watching the midget feature as the track started to slick off. Pierce also won the Illini 100 the last time it was held in 2021 becoming a back to back champion of the event.
The series runs Thursday at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown,TN after they had to postpone the race a couple of weeks ago. Catch the Outlaws only on DirtVision.
