Ray Cook would take advantage of race long leader Sam Seawright's misfortune to take the $7,500 check home back to Brasstown,NC. Seawright , who started 3rd , would jump out to the lead and lead 42 laps before suffering a flat tire. Ray Cook had issues himself at the start of the race being involved in 2 separate incidents worked his way up to 2nd to take full advantage of Seawright's tire issue.

Cook would lead the next 8 laps leading Chris Jones and hard charger Will Roland from his 20th starting spot to fill out the podium.
