Ricky Thornton Jr. had to work to get the win at Portsmouth Raceway Park passing leader Daulton Wilson on lap 32 then pulling away for his 17th Lucas Oil win over Devin Moran and Wilson.
31 Lucas Oil Late Models signed in for the $15,000 to win River Days Rumble. Adam Stricker would win time trials with heat race wins going to Overton , Burdette , O'Neal , and Wilson. B Main win went to Spencer Hughes with Tyler Erb and Earl Pearson Jr. filled the field by using provisionals.
Overton led the field to green but Hudson O'Neal , fresh off his $50,000 win last weekend , led the first 8 laps before Overton would take the lead until Wilson worked his way to the lead on lap 17. Wilson has been so close to grabbing that elusive first series win always runs good at PRP.
The first caution of the night waved on lap 20 for defending DTWC champion Garrett Smith. While under caution fourth place running Hudson O'Neal would go to work area with a flat right rear tire.
Back to green flag action with Wilson in control looking like he may finally break the seal for victory lane the blue and orange Twenty RT started to make his way up to the front after running midpack. He overtook Wilson as Wilson lost second to Moran after a lap 38 restart after Pearson brought out the yellow flag.
Overton, who fought overheating issues, finished fourth with O'Neal rebounding from his right rear flat to round out the top 5. The series will travel to Tyler County in West Virginia for the Hillybilly 100 paying $30,000 to win.
