Ricky Thornton Jr swept the night at Ocala Speedway ending Jonathan Davenport's two race win streak in the process. RTJ led all 50 laps and was really never pressured throughout the race. Hudson O'Neal had his series season best run with a runner up finish. Devin Moran had another top five finish with his third finish. Bobby Pierce and Jonathan Davenport rounded out the top 5
43 Lucas Oil Late Models were on hand for the Friday night $12,000 to win 50 lap feature. After group qualifying Ricky Thornton Jr stopped the clock the quickest. Heat race winners were Moran,Shirley, Thornton and O'Neal. All four heat races were tough but heat 3 had RTJ, Pierce, and JD. BMain wins went to Clay Harris and Tyler Erb.
At the drop of the green Thornton from his outside front row spot got the advantage advantage over inside front row starter Moran. That was all the 20RT needed as he controlled the distance from there.
Behind the leader the racing was good throughout the field. Most of the field was using the bottom of the track but Drake Troutman and Daulton Wilson were both pounding the Florida cushion. Wilson was the race's hard charger going from 24th to finish eight. Troutman finished seventh from his 13th starting spot.
Tonight ends five straight nights of racing at Ocala paying $25,000 to the winner.
