A field of 40 Super Late Models would fill the pits of All-Tech Speedway located in Ellisville , Fl for the first race of the Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series. Brandon Overton would win qualifying along with winning his heat race as will as Joiner , Clanton , and Winger. B Main wins would go to Moran and Tyler Erb as Smith , Putnam , Martin , Freeman , and Henderson would take provisionals to set the 28 car field.

The original event was altered due to unfavorable forecast for Saturday's $20,000 to win event so they cut it down to a 1 day event and the fans were treated with a dandy of a race as Thornton cut through the field.

Thornton as well as other made the 8 hour drive from Bulls Gap , TN to Ellisville , FL for a chance to win the $20,000 payday. Thornton who won the Lucas Oil sanctioned event back in February had his work cut out for him as he would start 14th on the grid for the 50 lap event.

Joseph Joiner would lead the first 22 laps before "The Georgia Bulldog" Shane Clanton would put the Skyline Motorsports Capital Race Cars 25 to the point until lap 40. Thornton actually would run out of tear offs and said afterwards that's when he made the decision to change his racing line and run where no one else was running on the track. He would jump to the outside which was the winning move of the race and erased Clanton's comfortable lead in just a few laps to pick up his 5th win of the year.

The series next event will be May 12th and 13th at Magnolia Motor Speedway located in Columbus Mississippi paying $5.000 to win Friday and $10,000 Saturday. Go to www.htfseries.com for complete schedule and other news within the series
