Sam Seawright led all but 2 laps and survived a couple of moments to pick up the first night of the Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park. Ashton Winger nipped Brandon Overton at the line to take the runner up honors as Overton filled out the podium finishers.
Seawright started the night off by topping the 34 entries in qualifying. The top 10 cars locked in with the remaining cars running last chance races. Josh Putnam and Logan Brown picked up wins in those 2 races to set the starting lineup.
Wil Herrington led the field to green and led the first lap until Seawright took the lead. His first scare came on lap 19 while lapping a slower car they got together. It didn't slow him down long and no damage to the car. Then on lap 22 he got into the wall allowing Overton to take the lead. Seawright recovered and retook the lead to take the win.
Seawright would say in victory lane he's always been good here going back to when he was a kid racing a Crate car. He hopes he can continue to be good as tonight's finale pays $20,000 to the winner. He had some extra fire in him as his dad was there in person to see him win as he had been sick.
