Garrett Smith broke his winless streak to take night 1 of the Winter Freeze at Screven Motor Speedway sanctioned by Southern All Stars.
The night started off with Brandon Overton topping the 34 car field in qualifying.
Overton would take the lead at the drop of the green flag 30 lap feature. He would lead until lap 3 when Smith , who hasn't won since the 2022 DTWC , took the lead that he would not relinquish.
Pearson Lee Williams would round out the podium and was closing in the lead duo before running out of laps. Ray Cook would pass B Main winner Wil Herrington on the last lap to take 4th. Herrington took hard charger honors charging from 18th starting spot.
They will race again tonight for 40 laps and a $12,000 payday.
