The new MARS Racing Series kicked off the Matt Curl Era at Brownstown Bullring located in Brownstown,IL with 37 MARS Late Models in the pits. With a great Friday night crowd filling up the stands they were rewarded with battle between Tyler Erb and Brandon Sheppard.

Tyler Erb kicked started the season by taking the top qualifying honors getting around the newly renovated Bullring with a time of 12.830 giving the popular driver the pole for his heat race that he would go on to win.

The other heat races went to "The Kid" Drake Troutman , Mike Harrison , and Ryan Unzicker. These four drivers would go to the redraw for starting positions with modified ace Mike Harrison drawing the pole.
B Main wins would go to Diveley and Suhre with provisionals going to the teammates of Bob Gardner and Tommy Sheppard Jr.
A couple of modified standouts , Harrison and Troutman, would fire from the front row with Harrison leading the first lap. It was however short lived as the driver from PA , Troutman , would overtake Harrison for the lead. Troutman made the long trip due to Lucas Oil being forced to cancel their Mid East swing due to Mother Nature.
The young driver would hold the lead until Terbo smashed The Loud Pedal and held off challenges from BShepp over the remaining 29 laps to earn his second career MARS Series win.

Shannon Babb would round out the podium in his Longhorn Chassis with "Squirrel" Brian Shirley fourth and hard charger Jason Feger finishing fifth from his 15th starting spot.
