Ryan Gustin threaded the needle in lapped traffic to pass Bobby Pierce with 3 laps to go to take the Dairyland Showdown win at Mississippi Thunder Speedway. Hoffman would take the runner up spot after Pierce jumped the cushion entering turn 2 after taking the white flag. Pierce rounded out the World of Outlaws podium after leading 20 laps of the feature.

Gustin started the night off topping the 32 car field in qualifying and winning his heat race. Tyler Erb, Pierce, and Cade Dillard also took heat race wins with Dennis Erb Jr, and Sam Mars collecting B Main wins to lock into the 50 lap main event.

Gustin fired off from his pole position starting spot when they dropped the green as Pierce,Erb,Hoffman, and Dillard followed the leader. The first yellow waved as Chris Madden slowed ending his night as he was making his 300th World of Outlaws start.

Gustin brought the field back to green with another great start. On lap 9 the yellow would wave again this time for the 5th running Cade Dillard. Dillard was battling for 4th with Hoffman when he went high into turn 4 and the RR exploded. He would change the tire and rejoined the field.

The third yellow would wave as Dustin Walker spun on lap 12. On the restart Tyler Erb made an agressive slider on Pierce not quite clearing the nose of the "Smooth Operator" Pierce would charge into 4 hitting the rear of the Best Performance Motorsports #1. They would continue on and Pierce overtook 2nd on lap 16 setting his sights on the leader Gustin.

Pierce took the lead from Gustin on lap 26. The yellow would come out again for Walker on lap 33 for a flat tire. While under yellow Shannon Babb felt his RR going soft and went pitside to put a new Hoosier on. Top 5 running order had Pierce leading Gustin,Terbo, Brandon Sheppard and Nick Hoffman.

As the laps were clicking away the leaders were catching the rear of the field as they were racing for positions in front of Pierce. Gustin was reeling in Pierce as he didn't know which line to take to pass the slower cars when Gustin made his winning move splitting the cars going into turn 2 to lead lap 47. Pierce would later say he should have zigged when he should have zagged. Bobby would get into the wall on the last lap as he was trying for one last run for the win allowing Hoffman to take 2nd.

Gustin, in the Todd Cooney owned Infinity by Wells Chassis powered by Jay Dickens Engines , picked up his third win of the season. The team took the Hunt the Front Series win last weekend at Smoky Mountain Speedway that paid $15,000. The Iowa connection is on a roll heading into Illinois Speedweek that kicks off Wednesday at Spoon River Speedway,
