The Lucas Oil Series point leader led all 50 laps to secure the 48th Annual Spring 50. This year's edition was sanctioned by Northern All Stars that James Essex resurrected last season and added more races for the 2024 season. RTJ would lead Mike Marlar , Josh Rice , Tyler Erb , and Jason Jameson to the finish line.
32 Late Models and a full crowd of specators filled the half mile speedway with local racer Robby Hensley topping qualifying. Heat races went to Rice , Thornton Jr , and Mike Marlar with fast qualifier Hensley taking the B Main.
Thornton would jump out to the lead at the start of the green and withstood a late challenge by Marlar before the yellow waved with six laps to go. Thornton would thank Essex for giving the drivers a good payout through the field as it paid $1,000 to start. The track took a lot of rain and cool temperatures but was smooth for the drivers.
The series will race again on April 6th at Brownstown Speedway paying $5,000 to win.
